SG Activity - Conceiving Creativity

A relaxed mood does not foster creativity. Nor does exchanging ideas with a close friend. People have strong beliefs about the processes, circumstances and personality characteristics that predict creativity. But these beliefs are often incomplete and not in line with current empirical evidence.

A better understanding of the scientific evidence about the conception of creativity can help us to select and shape the processes and circumstances that stimulate our creativity. In this talk, dr. Matthijs Baas will share recent findings from the research on the psychology of creativity. What makes us creative?

Dr. Matthijs Baas

In 2005, he started his dissertation research about the effects of specific moods on creativity. He received his PhD in 2010 (cum laude) and received the SESP dissertation award. His research is mainly about the cognitive, motivational and affective foundations of creativity.
